VIENNA, November 24 (Sputnik) — The deadline for reaching a comprehensive nuclear agreement with Tehran could be postponed for a few hours or days, but not months, a source in the Iranian delegation told RIA Novosti Monday.
"The deadline could be extended by no more than a few hours or a few days, but definitely not months," the source said.
The final round of Tehran’s talks with the P5+1 group comprising Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, China and Germany, kicked off in Vienna on Tuesday. The deadline to reach an agreement guaranteeing the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program expires on Monday.
Iran’s nuclear program has long been a matter of concern for the international community. The West suspects Iran of developing a nuclear weapon under the guise of a peaceful program, while Tehran argues that its nuclear development is aimed purely at meeting civilian needs.
