BRISBANE (Australia), November 16 (Sputnik) – G20 leaders agreed on a practical action for 2015 and 2016 to fight against corruption, the group stated in the G20 Anti-Corruption Action Plan.
"G20 members commit to taking concrete, practical action in 2015-16 on the … issues, which G20 countries have identified as high priorities in the fight against corruption," the document said.
G20 members' efforts will be directed toward preventing the abuse of legal persons and arrangements, combating bribery, determining high-risk sectors, promoting greater transparency in the public and private sectors and facilitating international cooperation.
"The G20 commits to lead by example and hold itself accountable for its anti-corruption commitments," the group stated.
Back in 2010, G20 leaders established the Anti-Corruption Working Group (ACWG) at the summit in Toronto. The ACWG is committed to doing its utmost to reduce corruption and enhance transparency.
The G20 leaders' summit in 2014 is held in Brisbane from November 15 to 16 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, with 4,000 delegates and 3,000 media representatives in attendance. The summit provides an opportunity for leaders to discuss global issues and use their influence to improve people's lives.
