KIEV, October 26 (RIA Novosti) - Batkivshchyna party leader Yulia Tymoshenko and her family cast their votes Sunday at a polling station in Dnipropetrovsk in central Ukraine in the ongoing early parliamentary elections.

"This is our duty to the 'heavenly hundred' [a term denoting activists killed during pro-European protests in the fall and winter of 2013-2014], to the thousands of our Ukrainian patriots who died on the frontline, to the millions who stood on all squares of Ukraine," Tymoshenko was quoted as saying in the party's press release.

"We are capable of uniting Ukraine and returning peace to the country," she added.

The Parliament speaker Oleksandr Turchynov, and his wife also visited the polling station.

Early parliamentary elections are underway in Ukraine. Ukrainians are going to the polls to vote in 424 members of parliament — 225 of them from party lists and 199 in single-candidate constituencies. The electoral threshold is five percent.
