While Greek Leaders Discuss Deals – the People Take to the Streets

The response to the economic crisis in Greece is forcing people out onto the streets in Athens. Supporters from other European cities have also joined in, expressing solidarity with those on both sides of the debate in an increasingly split country, but a land famed for its glorious past.

The response to the economic crisis in Greece is forcing people out onto the streets in Athens. Supporters from other European cities have also joined in, expressing solidarity with those on both sides of the debate in an increasingly split country, but a land famed for its glorious past.

Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tspiras has agreed to increase taxes and pension contributions in return for bailout money from Brussels.

This leaves the Greek people divided – some, feel betrayed, while others welcome the deal. The Syriza party still have to reach an agreement by Wednesday this week, in order to avoid a tragedy — default and bankruptcy.
