The Russian city of Yekaterinburg kicked off preparations for the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II. According to the plans for forces of the Central Military District and the Yekaterinburg garrison, on April 1 servicemen conducted the first rehearsal of the Victory Day parade.
On the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory residents and guests of Yekaterinburg on May 9 will have a chance to see 87 various pieces of military equipment.

In addition to modern Russian military machines, weapons which contributed to the victory over Nazi Germany also took part in the rehearsal in Yekaterinburg.

Iskander-M tactical missile systems were involved in the training. On May 9 in Yekaterinburg, Iskander-M will take part in a parade for the first time. Among other weapons were T-72 tanks, Msta-S self-propelled howitzers, Grad and Uragan multiple rocket launchers, Buk missile systems, and heavy flamethrowers.

According to the Central Military District, more than 2,700 servicemen are planned to take part in the parade on May 9.

Organizers said four legendary T-34 Soviet tanks will be in the Victory Day parade. This tank was one of the most famous war machines during World War II. It is also considered the most effective and influential tank of World War II.
