Turksib, also known as The Steel Road, is a 1929 Soviet black and white film directed by Viktor Turin about the building of the Turkestan-Siberia railway and its role in the development of Semirechye, a former region comprising parts of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.

The premiere posters were designed by famous Alexander Rodchenko (the photo shows one of his posters). Although Eisenstein’s work was rather loosely based on historical facts, the film is still perceived as almost a documentary.
