A dog, named Kleopatra is nursing two tiger cubs, abandoned by their mother at a resort zoo near Sochi.
At the Oktyabrsky resort zoo near Sochi, a dog, named Kleopatra is nursing two tiger cubs, abandoned by their mother, tigress Bagira. The dog, a Shar Pei that has recently had her own pups, was found at a local dog training club.
Kleopatra readily “adopted” the tiny cubs and has been eagerly nursing them along with its own puppies.
The cubs are also being fed by goat milk.
Tigers Bagira and Batyr had no interest in nursing their own cubs, which happens quite frequently when animals are kept in captivity.
The cubs are too tiny to play with the puppies, but they get along quite well.
They can only stay with their foster family for about two weeks, as Kleopatra won’t be able to nurse them for much longer.
When the cubs grow up a bit, they will return to the Zoo.
