MOSCOW (Sputnik) - France and Denmark played out the first 0-0 draw of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Moscow on Tuesday but both sides reached the round of 16.

France had been guaranteed a place in the knockout stage before the match while a draw was enough for Denmark to eliminate the other two Group C teams, Australia and Peru.

France, who finished in the first place, will next play the Group D runners-up, while Denmark will face the winners of that group.
