Poland Opposes NATO Strategy Regionalization, Division to Different Flanks

Poland stands against division of NATO's security strategy into different flanks on the geographical basis, the country's President Andrzej Duda said Friday.

WARSAW (Sputnik) — On July 8-9, NATO is holding a summit in Warsaw, Poland to discuss boosting the alliance’s military presence in Eastern Europe among other topics.

"I want to stress that in Poland we oppose to regionalization of security strategy and its division to different NATO flanks," Duda told the Warsaw Summit in his opening remarks.

He added that the core function of the NATO alliance was to defend peace.

"NATO at the summit in Poland has to demonstrate unity and solidarity, further more, the core implementation of the NATO task to guarantee stability against modern strategies," Duda pointed out.
