Russia's Zala Aero Group unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) manufacturer, which is a part of Russia's largest small arms maker Kalashnikov Concern, will display a range of its products at the upcoming KADEX-2016 military hardware exhibition, the company said Tuesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — KADEX-2016 is a biannual event and has been held since 2010. The fourth exhibition will take place in Kazakhstan's capital Astana and will see over 300 military equipment producers from around the world showcase aircraft and space technologies, army and navy armaments, air defense systems, IT technologies and robotic systems and military equipment utilizing alternative energy sources. A total of 40 Russian companies will attend the event.

"The Zala Aero Group will for the first time take part in the KADEX-2016 exhibition of weapons systems and military equipment, which will take place on June 2-5 in Kazakhstan. Displays of a wide range of unmanned complexes are planned, with both aircraft and helicopter-type vehicles among these," the manufacturer said in a press statement.

Zala Aero will also display its new, unique small-scale real-time control system RCS-7, which works without an operating system. The portable device is universal and may be used to control drones as well as any other robotic vehicles, including terrestrial and submerged ones.

"Today, the total number of UAVs built by Zala is over 2,000. Having proved their high-performance characteristics, these are used by the Interior Ministry and the Emergency Ministry on a large scale, as well as other armed organizations in Russia," Kalashnikov CEO Alexei Krivoruchko was quoted in the press release as saying.

Kalashnikov Concern was created in August 2013 through a merger of Russia’s Izhmash and Izhmekh companies. It produces automatic and sniper combat weapons, guided artillery ammunition and a wide range of civilian products, from shotguns and sporting rifles to machines and tools.
