New C-130J Military Cargo Planes Delivered to US Air Force, Coast Guard

The US Air Force and Coast Guard have both recently received two new versions each of the C-130J Super Hercules military transport aircraft, Lockheed Martin announced in a press release on Thursday.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — At the end of December, 2015, Lockheed Martin won a $1 billion contract from the US Air Force to provide 32 C-130J Super Hercules military airlift aircraft by 2020.

"Lockheed Martin recently delivered two C-130J Super Hercules aircraft: one HC-130J to the US Coast Guard and an MC-130J Commando II to the US Air Force," the release stated.

The Coast Guard’s HC-130J was originally delivered in 2015 and received post-production modifications at Lockheed Martin’s Greenville, South Carolina facility, the release explained.
