"Ms. Monaco and British officials also discussed plans to bolster information sharing with European counterparts on potential threats to the United States and Europe," the release said.

Monaco met with UK Home Secretary Theresa May, Deputy National Security Advisor Paddy McGuinness, and other senior British officials, according to the White House.

The United Kingdom has been conducting airstrikes against Daesh positions in Iraq since September 2014, as part of a US-led international coalition against the extremist group, which is prohibited in many countries, including Russia. London's aerial operation was extended to Syria in November 2015.
