A weapon which previously could be seen in sci-fi movies was developed in Crimea. The new automatic combat system is capable of locating and tracking the target as well as calculating the trajectory and choosing the proper caliber for firing.

The system is equally effective in day and nighttime in all weather conditions. The involvement of the operator is minimal as the system can be controlled remotely.

The smart system can chose the type of weapons and reload the module. It also provides target tracking and fire management. Currently, prototypes of the new weapon are being tested, TV channel Zvezda reported.

In real life, the new module would be mounted on warships, combat speed boats, armored vehicles, and various stationary systems.

The automatic combat module is one of the latest defense projects designed in Sevastopol. It can be equipped with different types of weapons of various gauges. It is controlled remotely, from a distance of up to 50 kilometers.

To onlookers the system appears as a videogame. The operator selects the target by touching the screen. Then, the system would automatically track the target regardless of its movements and speed, in any weather and visibility conditions.

The module developed by Sevastopol engineers is much lighter and more compact than its predecessors. It has an increased aiming speed. It is also safer for people since it does not require the operator to be on the site. All commands are sent remotely.

In 2016, under the state arms procurement 24 new modules are expected to be delivered to the Russian Defense Ministry. In addition, contracts have also been signed with four foreign customers.
