KIEV (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, Gladkovskyi held a meeting with newly appointed Pakistan's ambassador to Kiev Maj. Gen. Athar Abbas.
"I am sure that your work, while holding such a high diplomatic post, will be effective and productive. I can assure that defense cooperation between our countries will continue and deepen," Gladkovskyi said during the meeting with Abbas, as quoted by the council's press service.
Abbas, in his turn, expressed readiness to further expand Pakistani-Ukrainian ties.
"We consider Ukraine to be a reliable partner, and we are grateful for support," Abbas said.
The diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Ukraine were established in 1992.
