MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The exercises include more than 7,000 pieces of hardware and 170 airplanes besides the almost 100,000-strong military personnel.
“Military units from the Central Military District involved in the snap readiness drills are being regrouped at ranges in the Orenburg, Chelyabinsk, Astrakhan, and Altai regions,” the Defense Ministry said in a press release.
Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the snap combat readiness drills on September 7 and they will last through September 12.
