Three branches of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) – ground, navy and air force – arrived in Russia to participate in the 2015 International Army Games that will take place in Russia during the first two weeks of August.

The Chinese troops are said to be well-prepared: they trained hard the entire year and even brought their own hardware, CCTV News reported.

The PLA sent over 500 soldiers to compete in all 12 disciplines this year. The disciplines simulate a variety of real life military situations, including driving and shooting a tank ("tank biathlon"), low-altitude piloting and flight navigation for air force units ("aviadarts"), relay race for airborne troops ("airborne platoon"), ship and submarine racing for navy ("Caspian cup"), competition in artillery fire and air defense for ground forces, and even contest for army cooks ("field kitchen") among others.
