"Of course, we would be glad to supply [military] equipment, even though Thailand has a history of working with Western suppliers," Medvedev said in an exclusive interview with Thailand's Nation Multimedia Group.
According to the Nation, Thailand could export significantly more foodstuffs to Russia, offsetting a slump in Moscow's EU food imports following a year-long ban. In August 2014, Russia imposed restrictions on food imports from the European Union and other countries that targeted them for sanctions over the Ukraine crisis.
"We could produce a lot of tanks and other hardware if you want," the Russian prime minister noted.
Russia is one of the world's largest arms exporters. In 2014, Russia retained second place among world arms exporters behind the United States, according to IHS, a US-based consultancy business.
