Defense Ministry of self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic said Ukrainian forces have begun military exercises very close to the line of contact.

DONETSK (Sputnik) – The Defense Ministry of the eastern Ukrainian self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic said Ukrainian forces have begun military exercises very close to the line of contact.

“According to an announcement from a competent source in the Security Service of Ukraine, today, March 12, 2015, Ukrainian forces began exercises with live fire in the village of Maiorsk to the northwest of [the city] of Horlivka,” a DPR Defense Ministry source was quoted by the Donetsk News Agency as saying.

This comes after Luhansk People's Republic negotiator Vladislav Deinego warned about possible “conscious disruption” of implementing the February 12 Minsk agreements by Kiev.

Earlier on Thursday, the envoy of the self-proclaimed Donetsk people's republics (DPR) Denis Pushilin said the DPR registers ceasefire violations on a daily basis.

On February 12, the leaders of Germany, France, Russia and Ukraine worked out a set of measures in the Belarusian capital of Minsk to alleviate the conflict in southeastern Ukraine.

The main points of the Minsk deal include the implementation of a ceasefire by both sides, in force from February 15, and a heavy weapons pullout within two weeks.
