MOSCOW (Sputnik) — "A short while ago, a rocket was launched from the northern Gaza Strip. The rocket exploded mid-air. No injuries have been reported," the IDF wrote on Twitter.

In late June, a projectile was fired from Gaza, causing no casualties. The IDF responded with attacks against the positions of the Hamas movement in northern and southern parts of the Gaza Strip.

The Gaza Strip, along with the Golan Heights, the West Bank and the Sinai Peninsula were seized by Israel as a result of the Arab-Israeli Six-Day War in 1967.
