DAMASCUS (Sputnik) – Damascus condemns the deadly terror attack on Egypt's main Coptic Christian cathedral in Cairo, the Syrian Foreign Ministry said Monday.
"Syria strongly condemns the coward terror attack on a Coptic church in Cairo and expresses condolences to families of the victims," the ministry said in a statement.
On December 11, the attack on the cathedral claimed over 20 lives and injured almost 50 people.
Another explosion took place in Cairo on December 9, killing at least six police officers and injuring six other people. A source said that a terrorist group affiliated with the Daesh (outlawed in Russia) jihadist organization might have been behind the deadly explosion.
