Russia and China vetoed a UN Security Council resolution on the cessation of hostilities in Syrian Aleppo that was supported by Egypt, New Zealand and Spain.

UNITED NATIONS (Sputnik) — Beijing and Moscow voted against a draft resolution on Syria, co-sponsored by Egypt, New Zealand and Spain, during the UN Security Council meeting on Monday, saying more consultations on the resolution are needed.

"The results of the voting are as follows: 11 in favor, 3 against and 1 abstention. The draft resolution is not adopted since it does not have the required number of votes," the UN Security Council president said.
