MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Yarallah added that the Iraqi flags had been raised on the rooftops of buildings in the village by security forces after killing many Daesh fighters and destroying equipment that belonged to the extremist organization.
"Troops of the ninth brigade have completely freed the village of Humeira located north of the Salamiyah village," Yarallah was quoted as saying by the Alsumaria broadcaster.
Mosul has been occupied by Daesh, a terrorist group outlawed in Russia, since 2014. The operation to retake the city from the terrorists began on October 17.
