DUBAI (Sputnik) — The United Arab Emirates seeks to establish a mutually-respectful inter-faith dialogue within the country and promote constructive dialogue between religions globally, UAE State Minister for Tolerance Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi told Sputnik.
"The encouragement of a mutually-respectful inter-faith dialogue, here at home in the Emirates, but also more widely, is essential. It is incumbent on all those committed to such values to take part in the effort to safeguard humane and cultural values," Al Qasimi said.
The minister stressed that the Arab world was facing dangers posed by the expansion of fundamentalism, extremism and violence, spread particularly among young people.
She added that the international community must pursue a path of peace, strengthening coexistence and building solid societies, as all major religions preach peace and any forms of violence, cruelty and degenerate hatred are not representative of these religions.
