DAMASCUS (Sputnik) — Sixteen people have been killed in a twin blast that hit a southern Damascus suburb in Syria on Saturday, a source in a local hospital told RIA Novosti.
"At the moment there are 16 casualties, 46 people are wounded," the source said.
The suicide and car bomb explosions targeted a holy Shiite shrine of Sayyidah Zaynab linked to one of Prophet Muhammad’s granddaughters.
