The United States conducted a counterterrorism strike against al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula May 19 in the Shabwah Governorate in central Yemen, killing 4 al-Qaeda operatives, according to US Central Command (CENTCOM).

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The United States has carried out an airstrike in Yemen on May 19, which resulted in death of four al-Qaeda members, US Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a press release on Friday.

"The US military conducted a counterterrorism strike against al-Qa’ida in the Arabian Peninsula May 19 in the Shabwah Governorate in central Yemen, killing 4 al-Qa’ida operatives," CENTCOM stated.
