PKK Roadside Bomb Injures 12 in Southeastern Turkey - Reports

Subscribe
At least 12 people were injured in southeastern Turkey after a roadside bomb planted by the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants went off, local media reported Wednesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – According to the Daily Sabah newspaper, the militants detonated the device in the district of Nusaybin as a military vehicle was driving by.

Tensions between Ankara and the Kurds escalated in July 2015 when a ceasefire between Turkey and the PKK, considered a terrorist organization by Ankara, collapsed because of a series of terror attacks allegedly committed by PKK members.

Ankara has imposed several round-the-clock curfews in Kurdish-populated towns, preventing civilians from fleeing the regions where military actions are taking place.
