SULAYMANIYAH (Sputnik) — The SDF, which includes the Kurdish People's Defense Units, have been fighting to liberate Daesh-occupied cities of Raqqa and Tabqa.
"On May 27, after the occupation of Kaljibril village [was stopped], the IS militants conducted raids among civilians and those providing support to the fighters [of the SDF) were captured… They were gathered together and killed. The number of civilians killed in these mass massacres reached 48," the union's media center said.
On Tuesday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which includes the Kurdish People's Defense Units (YPG), supported by Washington started an operation to liberate Daesh-occupied Raqqa from jihadists.
