Saudi Arabia, UAE Establish Council to Boost Relations, Cooperation

Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have signed an agreement on creating a joint council to strengthen cooperation and boost relations between the two countries, local media reported.

DUBAI (Sputnik) – According to the WAM news agency, the signing took place in Jeddah, western Saudi Arabia, on Monday. Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan attended the signing.

The new council will seek to strengthen consultation and boost coordination on topics which are of concern to both countries, the media outlet claimed.

The sides also discussed regional and international issues. Other regional media outlets claimed that they spoke of the crises in Syria, Iraq, Libya and Yemen, as well as boosting counterterrorism efforts.
