MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Nusra Front terrorist group (outlawed in Russia) continues armed provocations against civilians and government troops in the Syrian provinces of Hama and Latakia, shelling residential areas and positions of the Syrian army, the Russian Defense Ministry said Saturday.
"The groupings of the Nusra Front terrorist organization continue armed provocations against civilians and government troops in the provinces of Hama and Latakia," the ministry said in a daily bulletin posted on its website.
According to the bulletin, residential areas in Hama province were shelled by improvised multiple rocket launchers.
Damascus’ forces have come under mortar attacks carried out by jihadists in the Latakia province, the ministry added.
