Anti-Daesh Coalition Cuts Daesh Oil Production by 30 Percent - Statement
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The US-led coalition against Daesh carried out 22 airstrikes on Wednesday on the terrorist group’s positions and infrastructure in Syria and Iraq, the Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve said in a press release.

“In Syria, coalition military forces conducted seven strikes using attack and ground-attack aircraft against ISIL targets,” the release said on Thursday. “Additionally in Iraq, Coalition military forces conducted 15 strikes coordinated with and in support of the Government of Iraq using bomber, ground-attack, and fighter aircraft against ISIL targets.”

In Syria, the coalition’s airstrikes were waged near three locations, Ayn Isa, Washiyah, and Mara, and destroyed a Daesh bunker, two fighting positions, one command and control node as well as multiple vehicles.

In Iraq, the coalition forces targeted sites near the towns of al-Baghdadi, al-Huwayjah, Fallujah, Hit, Qayyarah, and Mosul. The airstrikes destroyed multiple Daesh fighting and mortar positions, four rocket rails, four assembly areas, and Daesh-used bridge.

The US-led coalition of nearly 60 nations has been conducting airstrikes against Daesh first in Iraq and later Syria since 2014 — albeit without the approval of the Syrian government or the UN Security Council.

Daesh is a terrorist organization prohibited in many countries around the world, including the United States and Russia.
