According to the Iranian defense minister, Washingtong ultiple standards for this issue of endangering stability and security in the Middle East to justify interventions.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The United States uses ethnic and religious contradictions in the Middle East to undermine stability and increase US military expenses, Iranian Defense Minister Hossein Dehghan said at the 5th Moscow Conference on International Security on Wednesday.

“Is there a reason for developing ethnically and religious contradictions and organizing serious clashes between these groups that serve as a justification for interventions? It is the reason for the United States to use multiple standards for this issue of endangering stability and security with the use of wars and increase of state expenses for military purposes,” Dehgan said, adding that this could also “serve as ground to unleash one more global war."

"It is petty that some countries on the regional and international level provide multilateral support in terms of training, military and ideological aspects to extremists,” Dehgan said.

According to the minster, Russia's military presence in Syria has nevertheless managed to raise the chances in resolving the conflict without foreign interference.

"Russia's presence in Syria, which led to the superiority of the Syrian ground forces and raised the ability of the Syrian Army and the Syrian people to fight against terrorism, which is a very promising strategy to give and bring back peace and stability so that the Syrian people can solve their problem without foreign interference," Dehghan said.

Iran's defense minister also stressed that there is not a single organization able to hamper the development or increase in the country’s defense capabilities, particularly in its missile program.

“Iran with its huge human resources and scientists, extensive industrial infrastructure, and defense industry <…> will be on the highest levels of taking steps in arming its Armed Forces,” Dehgan stressed at the conference.

According to the minister, “there is no will or organization that can hamper the development or increase in defense capabilities, and in particular Iran’s missile defense capabilities.”

At the same time, Dehgan underscored that Iran would never pose threat to states' national security and "condemns any aggression and use of force against the sovereignty and freedom of neighboring states."
