DUBAI (Sputnik) — The statement was issued after the US Vice President Joe Biden’s meeting with King Abdullah in Jordan. The US vice president and the Jordanian monarch reportedly discussed the fight against Daesh.
"It is necessary to support the efforts of the Iraqi government in the fight against Daesh and to ensure the unity and peace in Iraq with the participation of all religious confessions," the king said, as quoted in the statement seen by RIA Novosti.
According to the statement, Jordan aims to strengthen the strategic partnership with the United States in all areas.
Jordan has been part of the US-led coalition fighting against Daesh in Syria and Iraq since 2014.
