ANKARA (Sputnik) – After the women threw the grenades, they attempted to escape, however, following a gunfight the two attackers were blocked inside a neighboring building in the Bayrampasa district, NTV said. One of the women was subsequently injured in the shootout.

The operation area of is cordoned off, traffic is stopped. Following the evacuation of residents from the building, the Turkish police stormed in, killing the two women. Gunfire and explosions were heard in the area, according to NTV.

A Turkish police officer was injured in an attack by two women on a police department in Istanbul, according to NTV
The attackers were allegedly accompanied by a third person, who managed to flee via a taxi. According to local media, the presumed third perpetrator sustained an injury and may seek out medical attention.
