WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The US-led coalition launched 21 airstrikes against Daesh terrorists embedded in Syria and Iraq targeting the group’s headquarters, tactical units and fighting position, the US Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR) announced in a press release on Wednesday.
"In Syria, coalition military forces conducted seven strikes using attack, fighter, and remotely piloted aircraft against ISIL [Daesh] targets," the release said.
In Iraq, the coalition launched 14 airstrikes on Tuesday in and around eight Iraqi cities including Mosul, Ramadi, Sinjar and Fallujah destroying a Daesh headquarters, assembly areas, vehicles, a vehicle borne improvised explosive device facility, fighting positions and suppressing a terrorist artillery piece.
"Additionally in Iraq, coalition military forces conducted 14 strikes coordinated with and in support of the Government of Iraq."
