The overall number of displaced Syrian refugees in the world is estimated to be at 4.6 million, the Russian Foreign Ministry said Friday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The overall number of displaced Syrian refugees in the world is estimated to be at 4.6 million, the Russian Foreign Ministry said Friday.

“The overall number of Syrian refugees in the world is estimated at 4.6 million people. The number of internally displaced individuals is considerably higher and stands at more than 7.6 million people, that is those who were forced to leave their home and move to safer zones in Syria,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a commentary in regard to the humanitarian situation in Syria.
