Turkish PM Doubts Arab League Would Support Ankara's Intervention in Syria

Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu voiced doubt on Wednesday that the Arab League would side with Ankara in the event of its military intervention in Syria.

ANKARA (Sputnik) — In the past months, Turkey also intensified the shelling of Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) positions in northern Syria, arguing that the Kurdish militia is a terrorist group that threatens Turkish security.

"Who will guarantee us, if we militarily intervene, that Arab countries will be defending and supporting this?" Davutoglu asked during his interview with Qatar’s state broadcaster Al Jazeera.
