MOSCOW(Sputnik) – The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ali Khamenei, has pardoned 1,059 prisoners convicted of crimes against society and the revolution to mark Islamic Revolution's Victory Day on Thursday.
"On the eve of anniversary of glorious victory of Revolution, #Bahman22, Leader has commuted or pardoned retributions of 1059 convicts," Khamenei’s press office said via his Twitter account.

Iran marks the 37th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution on February 11, which brought an end to a centuries-old monarchy.
Millions of Iranians across the Islamic republic took part in festivities celebrating the 1979 revolution, according to local media.
