MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The list of Syrian militant groups to be designated as terrorist organization may be drawn up at the upcoming meeting of the International Syria Support Group (ISSG) in Munich, a Syrian opposition politician said Wednesday.
"We need to finalize the blacklist. I hope that progress will be made on the issue in Munich tomorrow," moderate opposition representative Qadri Jamil said during a press conference at the Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency in Moscow.
World powers – including Russia, the United States, Iran and Saudi Arabia – are scheduled to meet on Thursday in the Bavarian capital, in Germany, in an attempt to revive the stalled Syrian proximity talks.
Jamil said the Jordanians had drafted a list of groupings that were active in Syria. He said the list was purely for reference and did not mention their political affiliations.
UN-mediated negotiations between the Syrian government and several opposition delegations in the Swiss city of Geneva were suspended last week. Qadri Jamil’s moderate opposition delegation, formed after a series of meetings in Moscow and Cairo, attended the talks.
