Armed terrorists retreating toward the Turkish border in Syria’s province of Latakia are receiving cover from Turkish artillery, a military source said Tuesday.

DAMASCUS (Sputnik) – The source added that Turkish artillery is directed at the Syrian Army positions.

“Turkish artillery has given cover several times when units of terrorists were retreating and giving up their positions, which allowed the terrorists to leave for Turkey,” the source told RIA Novosti.

The source added that Turkish artillery is directed at Syrian Army positions.

The Syrian authorities have repeatedly accused Turkey of providing weapons, intelligence data and financial support to Syrian militants while buying smuggled oil from the Islamic State jihadist group, outlawed in Russia and a number of other countries.

Syria has been in a state of civil war since 2011, with the country's government fighting a number of opposition factions and radical Islamist groups, including Daesh, which is prohibited in many countries, including Russia.

Why are they not being destroyed?

Why not ? DAESH are Erdogan's secret solders. So he must and will protect them to his utmost capabilities.

The only way to respond to the Turkish jihadist retard for a "president´s" desperate attacks is to pound his proxies even harder and that is exactly what SAA, SAAF and RuAF are doing.

Good news! the border area is cleared for the Kurds so they can launch attacks from the Syrian side. That hurts a lot more than a few shells.

Mikhas, It doesn't look like a densely populated area -- can't armed drones be used to cover the border areas with Turkey, so to speak and hit these fleeing low lives for sixes, while also protecting the SAA's positions?

Also, just a thought -- what about employing another S-500 (?) on this border -- surely nobody will escape then, as this system (from what I understand) covers land and skies?
  • Let the scum run for there lives and as fast as they can to get to the border, take them out by air force or long rang artillery or yes, even missile deployment . Once Syria has its control of border, Turkey have no reason for any further attacks.

A video should be uploaded to show how hypocrite erdo is..

The covering fire is to encourage those beheaders to regroup and go back and fight with the knowledge Turkey is behind them! not sure that's a comforting thought on any level. Either that or Erdo's son is loading the shells to keep his oil empire afloat.

It appears that Turkey has become an "exceptional" country, much like Israel has been for decades. As such, it can preemptively bomb, invade and occupy the sovereign territory of its neighbors at will. It and Israel, along with a few other American allies, are simply above the laws all other nations must carefully obey, at the risk of powerful US-led, international response. Turkey fears no real punishment for its crimes against Syria and Iraq, at least not for the present.

Well, it seems to me that the enemies of humanity need to save as many as these monsters created by them with great effort (and time) so as to fly them to another target country given that it is pretty obvious that they are losing Syria. Glad to see that the friends of humanity are killing these blood-loving monsters. The whole world benefits for that. Thank you and thank you sputnik for the unmasking during the last few months.

dvdgrg09, The Turkish artillery has intervened in the conflict and are providing fire support to the terrorists. Doesn't that indicate that Turkey has directly entered the Syrian Civil War? Why not simply take out the Turkish artillery? Why worry about expanding the conflict? It looks to me like Turkey has already intervened directly themselves. They have already expanded the conflict.

It's not like the Russian forces in Syria wouldn't have some missiles for just this sort of job. Let a Syrian push the launch button and Syria can say they did it. Then when the Turks send anything over the border, vaporise it from the air.
