MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On Sunday, three blasts occurred in the Sayyidah Zaynab suburb town near Damascus. A car bomb was remotely detonated, followed by two suicide bombers who detonated explosive belts, according to local media.
The Syrian Foreign Ministry said that it had sent a letter to the UN Security Council and the Secretary-General over the issue, calling the Damascus attacks an attempt to disrupt the beginning of intra-Syrian talks in Geneva.
According to media reports, the Daesh terrorist group, which is outlawed in Russia and many other countries, claimed responsibility for the attacks.
