“Charaffe al-Mouadan, he was a Syrian-based ISIL [Islamic State] member with a direct link to Abdul-Hamid Abu, the Paris attack cell leader,” Warren said. “We killed him on December 24 in Syria.”
Warren noted that al-Mouadan was actively planning additional terror attacks against the West.
He explained the terrorist was one of ten Islamic State leaders eliminated by the coalition precision airstrikes in December.
“We will hunt ISIL [Islamic State] leaders working to inspire attacks against US and our allies,” he stated.
On November 13, Islamic extremists carried out a series of coordinated attacks in Paris, killing 130 people and injuring more than 350. The Islamic State, also known as Daesh and outlawed in Russia, took responsibility for the attacks.
