The Syrian Army has cut off a supply route between two encircled suburbs of Damascus.

The Syrian Army cut off one of the supply routes between two encircled Damascus suburbs, Daraya and al-Moadamyeh, on Thursday, the news agency FARS reported.

The route which was captured was a conduit for supplies between the two towns, and led through an agricultural area. It was considered the most important supply route for militants in the region.

"The army also seized militants' weapons and ammunition in the clashes," FARS reported.

The Syrian Army also conducted artillery operations around the city, killing more militants, according to FARS.

Earlier reports suggest that the operation is part of an offensive against the suburb, as the northern part of the town of Darayya was also attacked by Syrian army forces.
