The air raid is said to have taken place late Saturday. According to other reports, the attack was launched by an unnamed terrorist group.

Local media outlets say that the airstrike, which destroyed a residential building, left an unspecified number of civilians killed.

Samir Quntar, a Lebanese Druze, spent nearly three decades in an Israeli prison following a PLF attack, which claimed the lives of four Israelis, including a four-year-old girl. The militant leader was released in 2008 as part of an Israeli-Hezbollah prisoner exchange.
Israel has not confirmed or denied its involvement in the attack but welcomed Quntar's killing.
