Turkey's move to shoot down a Russian jet may have been a provocation by the Turkish president, who has a hidden agenda in the Syrian conflict, according to former US Air Force general Thomas McInerney.

Turkey's move to shoot down the Russian Su-24 bomber had to have been pre-planned by Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to drive a wedge between Russia and NATO, former Assistant Vice Chief of Staff of the US Air Force, Lt. Gen. Thomas McInerney told Fox News.

According to McInerney, the attack was pre-planned by Turkey's president to drive a wedge between Russia and NATO and foil their potential cooperation in Syria, where Turkey is opposed to the Kurdish factions supported by the US.

"I think the intentional provocation may have been by Turkey's President Erdogan. Turkey has been a very secular nation, but he has driven it towards an Islamic society with Sharia law, et cetera. And so I think he may have a hidden agenda. He probably would not mind seeing Russia and NATO get into another conflict like we had in the Ukraine, which we do not need," the retired US Air Force general said.

According to McInerney, who took Turkish claims that the Russian plane entered Turkish territory at face value, the plane would not have been over Turkish territory long enough for its maneuvers to be seen as offensive.

"This airplane was not making any maneuvers to attack the territory. It was probably pressing the limits, that's fair. But you don't shoot 'em down just because of that," McInerney said.

McInerney is a former commander of NORAD's Alaskan Air Command, and cited situations in which Russian strategic bombers occasionally strayed into US air space, but were not shot down.

  • Even if the Russian plane entered the Turkish airspace for 17 seconds, the Turks could not have freezed it in the air, or could not have it suspended in the sky in order to have 10 messages over 5 minutes sent as a warning. Even if that could have been achieved (which is impossible) their plane had to be flying during these 17 seconds and be in proximity, with Turkish generals and the president approving of such an action (in sync with the USA). Of course it was planned. They knew that the Russian planes will by flying by on the other side of the border. This was planned days in advance.

Completely agree... Seeing the whole development of the actions yesterday - I arrived at the conclusion that the attack on the Russian plane Su24 was premeditated...

But -from my point of view - it was a plot between US / NATO and Turkey. For sure Turkey would not had dared to act alone... without having their back covered.

G20 in Ankara - the world leaders apparently supported Russia's actions in Syria... France was ready to collaborate without the precondition ''Assad must go''... Obama had a ''constructive'' meeting with President Putin... After the G20 Juncker sent a letter to President Putin to mend the economic and diplomatic ties between Russia and EU... Hollande said that he will visit Washington and Moscow to unite everybody to fight against ISIS...

So it looked like a rapprochement between EU and Russia...

Then yesterday, suddenly, while Hollande was in Washington, Turkey shoot down a Russian SU24 (fighting against terrorists) near by their borders and...

At the common speech with Obama, Hollande turn 180 degrees again saying that ''Assad must go'' and Russia must fight only-and-only against ISIS - not against all the terrorists groups in Syria... We all know that terrorists in Syria are financed and armed by USA, France, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, etc

At the same time NATO condemned Russia for allegedly trespassing the Turkish border... and reaffirm Turkey's right to protect their borders against Russian's planes... practically they agree that Turkey did a good thing downing SU24.

Every and each time Russia has the opportunity to establish a good relationship with EU - here comes US and its lackeys (in this particular case Turkey) to destroy everything...

In conclusion - my personal impression is that US plan in advance with Turkey the shooting of SU24 - knowing very well the Russian's military activity in that particular zone. Russia informed in advanced all those involved in the operations in Syria (US, Turkey, France, etc) about their moves.

And of course - as expected - the so-called EU leaders (corrupt & incompetent parasites) are ready to comply with their owners orders (the financial mafia from Wall Street)...

And Russia finds itself again bullied by the ''evil coalition'' of those who destroy our world: EU, US, Turkey, Saudi, Qatar, Israel...

I pray to God to protect Russia and all its citizens...

RIP brave Russian soldiers who fell fighting against terrorists....
