Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the Israeli authorities will use the withdrawal of permissions to work in Israel for the families of the perpetrators of the attacks in the country.

TEL AVIV (Sputnik) — Israel will tighten security measures in the country amid the wave of deadly attacks, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Monday.

"Apart from strengthening our units, sending reinforcements and bringing troops to villages and settlements, we adopt additional measures," Netanyahu said.

Among such measures, Netanyahu mentioned car checks and the withdrawal of permissions to work in Israel for the families of the perpetrators of the attacks in the country.

The decades-long conflict between the Palestinians and Israelis has recently seen increased tensions, with dozens of people killed on both sides amid reports that Tel Aviv will revise a status quo of the access to Temple Mount, which houses Islam’s third holiest site, the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

According to Ichud Hatzalah, the Israeli emergency service, at least 90 attacks we classified as terrorist, while 70 of them were conducted with the use of knives and other cutting weapons.

Palestinians seek diplomatic and economic recognition for their independent state on the territories of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, partially occupied by Israel, and the Gaza Strip. Israel has been building settlements on the occupied territories, despite objections from the United Nations.
