BEIRUT (Sputnik) — Lebanese security services arrested the organizers and accomplices in the recent terrorist attacks in the southern suburbs of Beirut, the country's Interior Minister Nohad Machnouk said Sunday.
15 November 2015, 00:56 GMT
"Seven Syrian citizens and two Lebanese were arrested, one of them is a suicide bomber. And there is information about five other suicide bombers," the minister said at a press conference in Beirut.
He added that those who had sent five suicide bombers were preparing to carry out more than one terrorist attack.
On Thursday, twin blasts hit Beirut’s Burj al-Barajneh neighborhood. At least 43 people died and 239 were injured, according to the Red Cross. The Islamic State jihadist group claimed responsibility for the attack.
