Sisi arrived in the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, from where the passenger jet had departed for St. Petersburg to conduct an unannounced inspection of the security measures in operation.
“We do not want to rush the investigation of the Russian plane [crash]. Egypt will hide nothing, because these are human victims and we value them,” Sisi said, as quoted by the Al Ahram daily.
Sisi has previously estimated that the ongoing probe may take months to conclude.
A number of international airlines suspended flights to Sharm el-Sheikh over suspicions that a terrorist act could have caused the crash.
Sisi said he preferred not to “jump to conclusions” on whether the airliner had been brought down by a bomb until the results of the official investigation were announced.
