WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The airstrikes near three Syrian cities, including Mara and al-Hasakah, were carried out on Monday. The strikes hit ISIL tactical units, fighting positions and an oil pump, the Central Command said.
“In Syria, coalition military forces conducted seven strikes using fighter, bomber, and remotely piloted aircraft,” the release said.
Russia has also continued its airstrikes campaign against terrorist groups in Syria, commenced at the request of Syrian President Bashar Assad on September 30.
The US-led coalition conducted 15 airstrikes near eight Iraqi cities to the north and west of Baghdad, including Ramadi and Mosul. The strikes hit multiple ISIL tactical units and fighting positions, weapons caches and command nodes, as well as other infrastructure targets.
“Separately in Iraq, coalition military forces conducted 15 strikes coordinated with and in support of the Government of Iraq using bomber, fighter, attack, remotely piloted aircraft, and rocket artillery against ISIL targets.”
