Scores of Islamic State militants have reportedly fled Syria in fear of an upcoming large-scale Syrian Army offensive.

More than three thousand militants from the Islamic State, Jabhat Al-Nusra and Jaish al-Yarmouk jihadist groups have left Syria for Jordan, fearing the forthcoming Syrian Army offensive, Russia's news agency Ria Novosti quoted a military source as saying.

"At least three thousand militants from the Islamic State, the Al-Nusra and the Jaish Al-Yarmouk fled to Jordan. They are afraid of the army's advance on all fronts and the Russian aircraft airstrikes," the source said.

According to the source, the Syrian army on Sunday attacked militants from the Islamic State and the Jabhat Al-Nusra" in the suburbs of the capital Damascus and the provinces of Deir Ezzor and Homs, as well as near the city of Palmyra.

In Deir Ezzor, about 160 militants were reportedly killed during the fighting, while the army's assault on Holms and Palmyra left at least seventeen militants dead.

Earlier on Monday, Syrian air force helicopters dropped leaflets in the south of Hama province, inviting terrorists to surrender and warning civilians about the beginning of a major military operation.

Agitational leaflets were dropped on the territories of Rastan and Talbiseh settlements, currently controlled by Islamic State and Jabhat al-Nusra militants, RIA Novosti reported.

On September 30, more than fifty Russian aircraft and helicopters, including the Su-24M, the Su-25 and the Su-34,  started precision airstrikes on Islamic State targets in Syria upon Syrian President Bashar Assad's request. Earlier that day, the Russian upper house of parliament unanimously supported the country's President Vladimir Putin's request to deploy the Russian Aerospace Forces abroad.

Syrian Ambassador to Russia Riad Haddad confirmed that Syrian Army strikes, supported by the Russian Aerospace Forces, were carried out against armed terrorist organizations, not political opposition factions or civilians.

..........More than three thousand militants from the Islamic State, Jabhat Al-Nusra and Jaish al-Yarmouk jihadist groups have left Syria for Jordan...........

If nothing is done about them they will return. Better equipped, better trained and larger in number. As long as the terrorists will find safe haven in Jordan, Turkey, Israel, Saoudi Arabia etc. this conflict will not be over.

Putin acts under International law. Arabs will realize Russia is protecting an elected Assad whose country has spiraled out of control due to Americas backing of 'moderate rebels'.

US invaded Iraq because of WMD's that were never found, chemical weapons that were also never found and the fact that Saddam wanted to start selling Iraq's oil in Euros. 10 years after their occupation and Iraq is still an utter mess with no end in sight.

Maybe Iran ground forces should wait for them on borders. What Russia did in 4 days, US did´t in 24 years in Middle East. Clear that something was cooking there. Europe and Russia just have to put forces on the border to protect their ground from these (ISIL) coward. Bravo Russia!

I would urge the Russians to proceed in to jordan and taking them out there as well. If the Americans can bomb On the Syrian territory whitout approval from the Syrian government then the Russians can do the same in Jordan.

Wow!! The terrorists advanced when the Outlaw Empire and vassals were "bombing," but they run now that the Russians are coming! The difference couldn't be more stark!
  • Thank you Russia, this last week has been the happiest time for me since this proxy war was pushed on us by the terrorist US.

I ,as a Canadian , have known about the corruption of my country for many many years and now the entire world is seeing how the true axis of evil works. These freaks in the western governments need to be charged with crimes against humanity and treason and if found guilty they must all be hanged by theis skinny little necks until they are dead.

If this mass escape is true, this is a strategic mistake the Russian Air Force allowed them to go.

Now, IF they terrorists, The Russian coalition should had seal the border. And check everyone leaving. Create Funnels to channel them. and 3 border line the first one with with spikes and anti tanks etc. The real refugees could be flown to refugee camps that are well protected. The rest? To camps in Russia . Russia could open tribunals.

They were warned. the day you force Russia in, is the day the show will be over. Russia don't play many games.

One important issue is the analyses and susequent termination of funds flowing to IS, clearly a part to be played by Russia. The IS is currently in all likelyhood making a lot of money from human traffiking.

You would think BND and NSA, who are into all kind of suveillance, would know something about the greatest crisis currently threatening Europe. I think they know a lot to say the least, maybe things are even as bad as shown in the movie kill the messanger...

Anyway, apart from intelligence, Rusia will supply military technology and training.

Iran can easely supply any level of manpower required and Hisbollah has a lot of specialist to offer.

Make sure to keep russian troops of the ground; rumors have it the US government is ready to offer 1000$ for every scalp...

    danielmartin516,
    Great idea.
they should try to get a UN mandate for it but if that doesn't work they can do without. It has been a generally accepted principal among the world community that you can bomb any country anywhere whenever you feel like it especially a roque state that sides with the most dangerous terrorist the world has ever seen.

Good they can be " refugees" in germany .....go fast ... lots of blondies and if you don t like go to sweeden or norway or filand .. super super .... don t worry if there are no weapons you can use a knife .
  • dennismic
Push them to the hills then drop the bomb wiping out the entire hill if necessary!
