ISIL Thugs May Swarm Europe if EU Refuses to Cooperate With Syria
DAMASCUS (Sputnik) Militants from the northwestern Syrian Shiite towns of Kefraya and Fua in the Idlib governorate killed more than 100 extremists within two days, while 8,000 civilians are still surrounded in the area by jihadists, a source from the Fua militia told RIA Novosti Sunday.

"Terrorists from Jabhat al-Nusra and Jaish al-Fatah continue to bear losses. At least 100 militants in two days were killed. The humanitarian situation in Fua and neighboring Kefraya is catastrophic," the source stated.

Syrian extremists, including al-Qaeda-affiliated fighters, started firing rockets and mortar shells on the residential area of the two besieged Shiite-majority towns on Saturday, killing tens of civilians and wounding hundreds.

The second attack was launched by the suicide bombers driving in mined infantry fighting vehicles and trucks.

In response, Syria’s Air Forces launched 20 airstrikes on the Islamists’ convoys that were carrying reinforcements to the front, the source said.

At the moment, the fighting has stopped, the terrorists had to retreat.

Civil war started in Syria in 2011. The country's army is fighting several opposition and extremist groups, including the Nusra Front. Syria's internal conflict has claimed some 220,000 lives so far, according to UN estimates.
